Yesterday was a busy day. Ryan's mom, sister, nieces, and grandma came down to meet the baby. My friend, Leann, and her 3 kids also came to meet Briggs. For awhile there were 10 kids. Briggs just kept on sleeping. The noise didn't bother him a bit. Leann and her kids spent the night. The girls were so excited. Our kids get along so great. There is never any fighting, no drama, etc. Makes for a very enjoyable time for all.

Ryan's fam & Leann visit
4 days old
Briggs is 4 days old. He had a big day. We took Tayloran to pick up her contacts. We then went to the dr for his billirubin check. The dr said that he thought he was ok and didn't need an official blood test. We were to stick him in sunlight twice a day. He also said that when we go back to the dr on 8/1 he will make an appointment for him to see the ent regarding his tongue. Yeah! I'm so happy that they are going to take care of it right away.

1st evening at home
We had several visitors who wanted to meet Briggs. The Childers Fam brought us the most wonderful meals. We were so blessed. We ate lasagna, bbq, chicken casserole, pork loin and potatoes, monkey bread, cinnamon rolls, & rice krispie treats. Thanks so much!!! I think I have gained weight instead of losing weight!!!! Several of Ryan's coaching buddies stopped by to checck out the newest Ranger!!! Our friend Christy also stopped by so her kids could meet the baby!
Coming home
We got to come home from the hospital on Sunday afternoon. The dr would have given us another day or so, but I didn't think the girls could handle the suspense of not having us home. I was also worried that Mom might leave early :) You know how things always happen - Tayloran had an ear infection - had to go to the dr, Avery was still a little under the weather with her tonsils, etc....Briggs went home weighing 7 lbs 8 oz. Avery got to come to the hospital with Daddy to help bring him home.

A day in the Life of Briggs
Life today started off with a bang. I woke up with a post-partum hemmorage. It was quite scary. Poor Ryan didn't even wake up until the nurses rolled him out of bed to change the sheets. Luckily, my dr happened to be right outside my door when the excitement began. It took about an hour to get things under control and then it was wait another 2 hrs to make sure I wasn't going to have to go to surgery. I woke up this morning feeling like I had been ran over by a mack truck. I'm still not feeling so great, but better. Briggs is doing great. Very content, quiet baby. Here are some pictures of him at 24 hours old. We can't quite tell who he looks like. He has changed looks from yesterday.
Briggs Has Arrived Part 2
Briggs Has Arrived!!!
Waiting on Briggs' arrival.
Dr. Walters, Briggs, Daddy
Briggs Anthony arrived at 5:42 PM on 7/18/08. He weighed in at an even 8 pounds and was 20 inches long. At this time, he has blonde hair and blue eyes. Briggs has been a good sleeper so far...hopefully that will continue at home! He is having a little trouble eating because he is very tongue-tied. All in all everyone is doing very well. We should all get to go home tomorrow evening. I will try to post some pictures also (my first blogging experience).

Avery & her tonsils
Avery had her tonsils taken out on 7/9/08 at Heartland Hopsital in Marion. She is finally starting to eat again (10 days later). She received a few get well gifts for her pain and suffering. Thanks to Gpa & Gma for the card and money, Pappie and Nana for the Webkinz, Christy for the balloons, and the Childers for the candy bouquet. The gifts were very thoughtful, thank you!
Addisyn's 1st bike ride. She got her bicycle a couple of months ago, but we hadn't went on a family bike ride. We ventured out in a different neighborhood where there wasn't as much traffic. It was pretty uneventful until the end when a training wheel came loose. A great time was had by all!!!!
Baby Shower
Ryan's Aunt Mary, cousins - Megan,Leah, and Therese, and my awesome friend, Leann threw us this wonderful baby shower. We received so many things for baby boy miller. He has blue blankets, rubber boots, and blue jeans. He received his first camo onesie ( you have to have camo if you live in Southern Illinois), and his first matchbox cars. He received a ton of clothes. So, now that he has a name and items, you would think he could make an entrance into the world!!! thank you ladies for a wonderful shower!!!!
4th of July
We spent most of the day just hanging around the house. It was actually quite cool. We then went to the Childer's house for a 4th of July cookout. We had so much fun. The kids loved swimming in the heated pool. They also were big fans of the hot tub. We saw an excellent fireworks display in the yard and were home in bed by 11!!! tayloran and Avery are missing in the pictures because they went home with my mom! So much for missing us SOOOOOO badly!!
Texas
These are the last of the pictures of Texas. We had a great time. We did drive by the Alamo. Ryan is a lot like his Gpa Max - gets there and then is ready to come home. We both agree that we are lovers of "fake" mexican food, and not big fans of the authentic stuff. Ryan did take me back to another outlet mall ( they had an under armour outlet - don't think I spelled that right - and at this point - don't care ) They had great stores. In fact, I am going to try to talk my mom into a road trip to go back to visit!!!! There was a pottery barn kids outlet. The babies room came home with a big wall board for $7.60!!! A super deal. We were glad to get home to the girls. I'm sure my mom was ready for us to be home, too!!!
