Briggs last week ( 5 weeks)

Enjoy the pictures of Briggs last week. In these pictures he is 5 weeks old. He changes his looks from day to day. He is a wonderful baby. He loves to eat, sleep, and ya know. Typical baby. He has slept 7 hours 3 nights in a row. YEAH! It would be nice if everyone else would stay in their beds!!!

Getting dried off with the adorable lion towell from Avery's wonderful teacher last year!!!
Briggs was given some gift cards and we thought he would enjoy this bouncy seat.

Reunion Sunday

Last Sunday was my mom's family reunion at our trailer. As a child I was always so excited for reunion weekend. We would get a big tent and all of us kids would sleep outside in the tent. My mom has been taking the girls for the weekend the past two years. They have went and slept in the trailer. This year 16 people slept in a single wide trailer! Holy Cow!!! We thought we had a trailer full when it was just 3 kids and four adults! My dad would have gotten a big kick out of that many people all squeezed in together. The girls had a great time playing in the mud, the creek, and catching frogs. YUK! I actually did all of this stuff when I was their age - no frogs for me. Pam, Ang, and I hiked thru these woods, the water, etc. We would be gone all afternoon. To my knowledge, neither of us have ever had poison ivy. That is a miracle in itself. I took these pictures of my kids in the mud for Leann. She is a litle worried that I will have Briggs sitting on the front porch swing his whole life - not getting dirty. I will let them get dirty, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I was cringing the whole time. I was especially gritting my teeth when I thought a frog jumped out of Avery's hands into Briggs' diaper bag!!!! So, Leann - enjoy!!!! By the way, I asked Addisyn what her favorite part of the weekend was - she answered, " playing in the mud". REALLY?????

Gracie getting Loran. They were having a great time snacking and trying to escape!!!
CeCe, Avery, Ali, Tayloran, and Addisyn - YUK!!!!!!!! I can still smell the mud/pond smell!

Friday Night

Friday after school, Ryan brought home some more gifts for the baby! He received Ranger wear. We were all so excited. We couldn't wait to try it on. He looked like such a "little man". He had on his kachi shorts just like the big guys! My mom came down to the scrimmage game. They announce all of the players and they scrimmage the freshman, sophmores, jv. and varsity. The turn out was huge. The bleachers were full.

Addisyn and Briggs after school. Addisyn misses holding him while she's away.

Briggs, Mine, and Braelyn. Braelyn couldn't wait to go to the game. I think she remembered that she usually got popcorn and candy!!!

Friday Guests

Today we had the pleasure of having Gma Bobbie and Gpa Max stop by to visit us. They were on their way thru, and they stopped to see us. Daddy managed to sneak away from school during his lunch hour to say hi. Thanks for taking the time to visit us. The older girls were so disappointed that they couldn't stay home from school. I guess I have to add that they almost got too. When I took them to school Fri. morning there was a train across the tracks - totally stopped. I had Tayloran in a complete come apart in the front seat and Avery in the back wishing we had walked so we could have hopped over the train - stroller and all!!! We were there for 20 min. Ryan had to call the school to make sure that they wouldn't be counted late. If he wouldn't have called to find out, Tayloran would have been mental!!! By the way, I would have been mental also!!! Ladies who know her, get a good laugh, I can laugh now - but not Fri. morning!!! At least Addisyn had no drama - she was only worried about getting wet in the rain. I wonder who she gets that from???

Grandma Bobbie holding Briggs and putting up with Braelyn asking every two seconds if she could hold him!
Gpa was a good sport. He waited for Ryan to get home so that Ryan could say hello!

Braelyn & Briggs

Braelyn was all by herself with Briggs yesterday. By lunchtime, she was ready to call Addisyn to see what she was doing. Braelyn talked ALLLLLLLL day yesterday. By lunchtime, I was exhausted. I don't think she every stopped talking. It finally dawned on me that she has never had the opportunity to talk this much. She was taking full advantage of it. The only thing that saved me yesterday was folding laundry. Braelyn is so into "solding" laundry. She takes the clothes out of her drawer several times a day to re"sold" them. I sat her down with a basket and this entertained her for quite some time! Thanks mom, for introducing her to this task.

First of School 2008

The first day of school was yesterday. We registered on Tues ( took me two hours - waited in one line for 45 min) and then they went all day on Wed. Tayloran was a basket case worrying about how she would find her classes, being late getting from one class to another, etc. Avery was very excited to start 4th grade. Addisyn was all excited until I started crying as I was taking her out of the van. She was then a little taken back due to a gym full of kids waiting to go to class. She was fine once she got into her room. The great part is that I am friends with Addisyn's teacher so I can easily get updates. Addisyn loved school. The hard part is getting everyone around in the morning. So far, 2 days, we have made it on time. Yesterday Braelyn went in pj's and today it was Briggs. We'll see if we can accomplish everyone dressed for tomorrow am! Too bad school didn't start at 10!

Tayloran 5th Grade
Avery 4th Grade
Addisyn - Kindergarten
The clan - Braelyn decided that she didn't want to get left out.

Briggs is 1 month

Briggs is one month already. I can't believe how big he is. He is trying to hold up his head, and today ( Wed ) he really smiled at us. He smiled when I talked to him, and then he smiled Ryan walked up to him and said, " Hi, Little Man." The girls are still loving every little inch of him.

Skating

Saturday night I took Tayloran, Avery, a friend, Hannah, Addisyn, Braelyn, and Briggs skating! We looked like small parade going in. It was crazy trying to get everyone's skates on. Ryan was going to come after football practice, and he managed to show up right after I had everyone's skates tied! It was crazy in there. Not much supervision, kids tackling other kids on the rink, etc. Needless to say, we won't be going again on Sat. night! Too ruff!!!!

Braelyn ready to hit the rink with her Dora skates!
Daddy showed up just in time to help Brae!!!
Addisy n taking a break from the madness! It was crazy in there.

Today's Visitors

Today my Uncle Rick ( my dad's brother) and Aunt Karen, Aunt Jeanne ( married to my dad's brother) and her daughter, Terri came to visit and to meet Briggs. The girls were so excited to have company. They were generous and took us all out to eat. Ryan decided to take them to Cathy Ann's. They have a variety of food, and we were all stuffed when we left. We had a great time visiting and catching up. I have to tell one part of the conversation at lunch. My Aunts were asking Tayloran and Avery what their favorite subjects were. Tayloran announced that hers was reading, and Avery pipes up that hers is math. She goes on to say that her favorite subject used to be lunch!!! I about spit out my drink. When did lunch become a subject???? Too funny, Avs!!! We then came back and watched the girls swim. We were so happy to see all of you. Glad you made your way to the big city. Hope you had a safe travel home!

Aunt Karen getting a minute to hold Briggs. The girls had her busy watching all of their pool tricks. Plus, she was even lucky enough to play a game of volleyball!!!

3 Weeks Old

Briggs in his big boy jammies
Here is Briggs at his 3 week bday. He is getting so big, but his clothes are still HUGE!!! He is swimming in this outfit. However, the only thing short that fits are onesies. Sorry, Little Man!
He is still such a great baby. Ryan and I have truly been blessed. All of the kids have been great babies - good sleepers - eaters, etc. The newness has not worn off yet. We all still love to hold and spoil him. It's a wonder that he sleeps at night.
