Ryan Miller Fam: March 2009

The first couple of days we just laid around. On this particular day, we didn't get up until almost noon. We had quite an eventful "first" night in Orlando. Everyone went to bed just great. However, at about 1 am Briggs woke up SCREAMING his head off. I have never heard a baby scream like he was. This went on for about 15 min before we started waking up the girls. He is still SCREAMING, and I'm picturing DCFS on our doorstep. Mom and I were a little "freaked out" and my mom called 911 for directions to the hospital. Yes, we did have a GPS - No, we didn't think to push the button that said hospital. So, 911 was questioning my mom - did he fall - is he burnt, ....blah, blah, blah. They won't give us directions, but instead instuct us to pull over into a parking lot. We can see the fire department and rescue the next block over....they are not finding us. Finally, my mom gave the 911 a chewing out, and he gave directions to the hospital. ( as it turned out - it was like 2 min from our condo - we had passed it - ugh) All in all, Briggs had probably screamed for 30 min, and by the time we walked into the ER...he was asleep in my arms. I was followed into the ER by the FD, rescue, and a policeman. I was questioned by all, and chewed out by teh ER nurse for calling 911 for directions to the hospital. So, to make a long story a little shorter...Briggs had a double ear infection. We were in the er 4 LONG hours. The girls didn't enjoy their first night on vacation very well. The last funny part to this story....I had Tayloran call Ryan to tell him what was going on. Instead of talking to him, she told him that she was too upset to talk and hung up on him. He heard this screaming baby, and then the phone went dead! He decided that the 3 of us weren't good in emergency situations.

After we got up the next morning, we headed to downtown disney to check out the shops. The only thing we purchased - candy!!!

We went to Magic Kingdom and the temp was 48 degrees! We could have stayed in IL for that! Braelyn wanted to go home. We had to buy a blanket to keep Briggs under wraps. The day was ok - not great!
